Limited no of rounds would be a way forward. I was blessed to watch one tournament where I found even the GMs and IMs and very strong players play. In a battle of 60 minutes , they were able to play about 30 games (the games were of 3 minute duration each). So any one with some brain can make out that they are not playing amongst themselves and killing the others. I think that should not be the objective. So in a round robin tournament , have limited no of rounds which can be programmed by the one who is organising. And if you are fond of drawing with each other still then ok as the no of rounds is lesser. Its time we change for good as Lichess has come a big way forward.
Especially for rapid and classical, introducing swiss would make a lot of sense. Playing those time controls in an arena format just leads to what are functionally blitz tournaments. If you actually use your time and win 100%, you will never win an arena classical tournament.
Please try to create swiss system pairing as i run the biggest chess team representing Bangladesh....I do face a lot of problems people are more interested to swiss system.....is it possible please response

I love the Lichess platform, the analysis, insights, even the colors, themes, speed, data consumption, ALL, I feel more "comfortable" playing here, but I have to confess I go to the "other site" just for the Swiss System (or some articles). I've read a lot on forums about the difficulty to implement, I wish some day it can be possible.

Swiss would be great indeed! I can imagine this takes time to develop.
For the short term it would already be very helpful to change the Arena Mode just a littlebit so that two players cannot be paired to each other for a second time without having had one other opponent in between. I think this is not very difficult to implement and would already prevent a lot of irritation of players that have to play the same opponent 5 times in a row, without any other opponent in between. I totally support this. Also a Round Robind type of tournament would be easy to do.
