Lichess Tournament pairing system

2 types of system's -
Arena
Swiss
Swiss
So first off all swiss is a rank based pair- eg 1st vs 3rd and 2nd vs 4th
But when the tournament most likely starts it will be a battle of rating types or ranges- eg 1500 vs 1300 1200 vs 1000 etc.
Arena
Arena pairing is totally luck based eg - 12th vs 1st 3rd vs 88th etc.
But rating also sometime matters eg- Daviddagoliath-1500 elo vs bruhmandi-1450 elo
So basically swiss tournament pairings are- At the beginning of the tournament, players are paired based on their rating. As soon as you finish a game, return to the tournament lobby: you will then be paired with a player close to your ranking.
For arena - Its just random (searched it up on google no results)
