Really interesting read - IM Greg Shahade: "Slow Chess should die a fast death"!

I'm guessing Mr.Shahade beat many GMs in faster time controls, but not so much in classic.
Yes I went there.
Except that's simply not true, you can see the games everyone in this thread plays. There are plenty of classical games.
"plenty"? That is so far from being true.

I just find it to be funny how people here that play fast chess games 99% of time are so against this.

The truth is that they are just afraid of change and have a hard time being objective about this.
@BestSiteEver did you ever try slow games and see how much more interesting they are?

Perhaps for spectators it would be better if the standard games were shorter, Fide added Blitz and Rapid ratings in recent years.
plot twist: OP is actually Greg
or maybe Jennifer :)
and without reading it its probably garbage, its like having to calculate an obviously weak move, too lazy for this stuff
#6 @lovlas <------ what he said, totally agree
but I can imagine the genius argument that he might have used
Its probably the same as this:" Most amateurs play football (aka soccer) in smaller fields and in teams of 5x5 instead of 11x11 because honestly too much running is boring and tiring.Hence 5x5 is the future of football"

I have a feeling the author is forgetting what chess is all about. Its a mind game. Not a *give both players 1 minute and see who blunders the least* game. I kinda also dislike being told what I like. It reminds me of clickbait journalism.
